I'm pretty sure my laptop died the day before my trip. It was an HP Dev One I had for less than 3 years. I used it every day and it was pretty decent for the price... But it's just dead. I'm tempted to try and replace my main computer with a Samsung Tab S10. I like the mobile interface more than desktop these days tbh

I've come to a realization. Share-alike and Copyleft licenses don't achieve what I'm setting out to do with my creative projects. I am going to remove them from my license and let a limited commercial restriction do the heavy-lifting. The MIT license has inspired me more than the GPL recently, but it needs more.

I suspect it will be a prosperous surge followed by a severe downturn. But nobody will ever know the exact timeframes, so speculation is not very useful. I've noticed complex systems are simultaneously more robust and more fragile than people give them credit for.

I leave tomorrow. I'll share the video I took on the last day of my first trip almost 9 years ago. I sat down by a river in Kyoto while some ladies played with their dogs. It was peaceful.

I dislike how the best scholarships are contingent on *immediately* going to college after high school. It makes the punishment for taking a gap year severe because American Uni is so expensive. FWIW I enjoyed my time at Uni, but I went to a cheap state college and paid it all off while enrolled. College still matters.
