Should parents get one extra vote per child? Just because the kids arenโ€™t old enough to vote, their interests should still be accounted for right?

Considering that many adults don't vote the same way as their parents, I don't think this makes sense. This would also be tough for kids who aren't voting age but have political opinions that differ from their parents. Imagine being disenfranchised but knowing you're giving more power to someone you disagree with.

Interesting. The main objections seem to be that children disagree with parents on politics (@typeof.eth) and that the incentives are bad for child bearing (@qt) One solution to this is: parents get 1 extra vote if they have children. The extra vote isn't tied to a specific child, and it solves the bad incentive

Yes, property owners, parents, people in full-time employment, should weigh 10x more than the votes of others. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athenian_democracy

I don't want the Duggars to have 19x voting power. Questions re: adoption, blended families, divorce, etc Not an aligned incentive for society. In a way an extension of helicopter parenting. Troublesome especially for the child who grows into a teen with disagreements over the voting perspective of the parents.

Absolutely not. Their interests are accounted for with their parents votes, who made a choice to bear the responsibility of raising a child.

No. We shouldnโ€™t systematically allow parents to mangle with childrensโ€™ agency
