What’s the best advice you ignored that turned out to be spot on? We’ve all been there—someone gives you advice, you think, ‘Yeah, whatever man, that won’t happen to me!” only to later realize they were right. Maybe it’s about your career, family, or something else else entirely, but we’ve all done it. I’ve done it a lot, but the one that stings is the most is ignoring the advice not to take loved ones for granted. Losing my brother Andrew this year, I was reminded of all the plans we made ‘for later’ that we would now never get to do. If I could go back, I would say “Yes” to all those times he asked to hang out or shoot the shit, no matter how tired or busy I was. What’s some advice that you’ve gotten in the past and ignored only to realize later you should have listened sooner?

it’s a really simple one and that is “BE PATIENT” if i’d listen to this advice my elder brother gave to me before he passed i would’ve avoided a lot of mistakes, losses, i’d have saved so many relationships (friendships and others) and would be living a better life. I’m still learning how to do that but nowadays it rings in my head before i make most decisions and it’s been a game changer for me.

Sometimes it's better to hire a professional. You think you can save money only to spend 2x the amount and still hire a professional. Always look at your situation and time before making any decisions

when I was younger I would try to push myself physically to do a lot of jobs. my uncle continually told me to start using my brain and that it would take me farther than I could ever imagine. he was very right and i thank him every chance I get!

Thanks for sharing that. The advice I ignored was, “Take care of your body; you’ll thank yourself later.” I brushed it off, thinking I could push through anything. Now, dealing with things like carpal tunnel and back pain, I get it. It’s a reminder that I should’ve listened sooner—it would’ve saved me a lot of frustration.

This post really hits home bro 😧. I think we've all had moments where we brushed off advice, thinking it didn’t apply to us or that we’d have more time. For me, the advice was to prioritize self-care and set boundaries with the loved ones. I was always someone who would go the extra mile for everyone around me, even if it meant sacrificing my own peace. Over time, it wore me down, and I realized that saying “No” isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. I wish I had listened sooner, as it would have saved me from a lot of burnout. What about you? Saying no for anything is really a tough task when loved ones are asking...is this situation happened with you also .?

First and foremost, I’m really sorry about your brother. I have a lot of moments like this, but one really stood out. It was about football. On that fateful day, my mom specifically asked me not to go play. Football was my thing, but for some reason, she was adamant—she just said, ‘Don’t play today.’ A few hours later, she went out, and my friends came over, ready for a game. I figured, ‘Sure, let’s do it.’ But as soon as I stepped onto the field, not even a minute in, I fractured my left hand. To this day, my hand isn’t the same; it still bends differently, and that injury started a lasting phobia for playing football out of fear of getting hurt again. This one hits hard because football was a sport I loved, but I just can’t bring myself to play it anymore. If I could go back, I would have listened to her that day. I’m not sure if it’s totally relevant to the topic, but it feels good to share- I mean that’s why I joined /success 🫶

As an overseas worker, we usually receive a goodluck advice like "take care of your health" -- we usually take it for granted, and think about nah Im physicall healthy and good -- having that said, as a typical guy living alone abroad, I forgot that I also needed to take care of my Mental Health. Life happens. and then boom, I see myself on a hole I didnt think ill getup on. Agaraphobia with Panic disorder - medically diagnosed and taking my battles everyday. Slowly and Surely. Its one of the reason why I decided to get away from social media for months and just came back again. So If anyone of you is reading this. Please take care of your Mental health. You are not alone on this world, and its definitely okay not to be okay. @maretus.eth I think its time for me to post more and be active on our channel instead of just reading everyday. I love the cause and motives of our /success channel as we touch lives.

I’m so sorry for your brother I may not remember the best but I think this was one of the best, “my friend advised me to buy $2k Shiba at dip but I didn't because I wasn't interested in memecoins at the time, he bought and profited. It was very good and I only regret it”

My grandparents always told me, "You be you. Let negativity surround you, but don’t lose your positivity. Not everything requires a reaction." I didn’t heed their words at first, but as I grew, their wisdom became clear. Today, I embrace that advice wholeheartedly. It shapes how I navigate life’s challenges, reminding me to stay true to myself amidst the chaos.

It happens with everyone. Life is always does some funny things bro. A lot of people adviced me, sometimes i was happy to ignore sometimes not. When i was in college some of my friends wanted to start a business in roadside. 3 of us ignored because of study. They started their business with tea, biscuits and cigarettes. Now they have a super shop there, they made their own house, cars etc etc. I also think I would do business with him if I could go back. But that's impossible, so i don't regret anymore.

Continue @maretus.eth Another piece of advice that often gets overlooked is to network and build relationships early in a career. Many think they can rely solely on their skills and hard work, but connections can play a significant role in opportunities that arise later on. What about you? Are there other pieces of advice that stick out for you aside from the one about your brother?

Sorry about the loss of your brother man. I’m sure the reason he wanted to hang was because of how much he looked up to you. Loved ones see how much we struggle, overcome & come out on top! Advice I received but never acted on - my dad said certain friends can take you away from your end goal! Don’t stop building!

Completely forgot my brothers bday was coming up, talked to my mom tonight and made plans to hang out at his place this weekend with my two sons. He lives 3 and half hours away and were busy so we don’t get together much The kids are pumped to see their uncle and all his cool toys 😎

Don't be afraid to make mistakes, he who is not wrong does not move forward. It was a great advice, I often idealize, weigh and think about actions, but I don't always get to action, because I was afraid of making a mistake, stumbling, getting a negative experience. But it turns out it's normal
