what really worked for me was connection with new, values-aligned people not engagement but connection

secret to making mantras work: imagine and feel that you’re reciting it TO something a deity, a tree, a rock, whatever the power is in the relationship you create

exactly — it’s one of those principles that you could even create products around. imagine some extension that asks you , “brother what’s the outcome you’re creating here” before letting you continue interesting feedback and data loop

“What is the outcome I am trying to achieve here?” I think most people would benefit from reading this https://commoncog.com/outcome-orientation/

I have! Tried it for work. heymarvin and a bunch of startups are trying to make this good. can share all of them if you want. just using Claude/OAI has mixed results, it kinda just makes stuff up that sounds “right”, but it struggles working with nuance unless you prompt it properly. 3 things impact quality, SCOPE, SPECIFICITY, and CONTEXT You want very tight scope and specificity with a lot of context. That might mean asking the LLM to code and create categories line by line.

this is really cool to see — but hardware feels hard to get into if you don’t have the experience — how have you been finding that?
