We have pretty harsh winters where I live. How do you suppose one might live in harmony with that season? A lot of our fruit/veggies is imported.

I live in places with harsh winters and usually living in harmony means eating local food that has been stored for winter. Stuff like root veggies, cabbage, and apples do well for winter. Of course living in harmony isn’t just food, and it isn’t just living as some farmer from the past. We take into account our modern context. For instance - in winter, clementines are imported here, so we eat them in winter. You might take winter to reflect and strengthen your soul and body for the upcoming spring.

This was really awesome. I appreciate all of this. I really resonate with this idea that you can take time in the winter to reflect and strengthen your soul. I'd love to know what that looks like for you and how you've been going about that process right now.

In general I take more time for reflection (ie thinking, walking, journaling), and then take action on any insights I make about myself. In summer we can be busy, we might forget what we are eating/doing. In winter you can slow down and take time to be intentional about the food you eat, about the things you do. This winter I am reducing sugar and increasing my flexibility.
