What are the 1st/2nd island chain/Cuba equivalent geographical weaknesses for India? The first one that comes to mind to me is Himalayan water sources that China has partial control over. But at a glance, the Indian Ocean looks uncontested. China’s geographical weakness seems to majorly be the three gorges dam and the first and second island chain, and its entire supply chain being choked off by the malacca straight. The one that comes to mind for the US is having Cuba being a strong country that contests American influence.

I highly recommend listening to his sonatas, especially the 4th, 5th (my favorite), 7th, and 9th. I also love the Le PoΓ¨me de l’extase and the 3rd Symphony.

Yes, for me he is a brilliant pianist and has a deep understanding of Scriabin's works. What are your favorite compositions?

interesting take. i agree that iran's influence through proxies is a big issue. the idea of regime change sounds good on paper, but haven't we seen how messy that can get? look at iraq, libya...

Not even ten years ago, I flew on a fact-finding mission to Tehran following the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signature. Everybody I met then was hoping for a brighter future. Tonight, I’m supposed to fly over Iran and my flight will be re-routed around Iranian airspace as a precautionary measure in anticipation for a retaliatory strike by Tehran. Hope is not part of the vocabulary anymore. Such a needlessly wasteful tragedy that this region keeps taking one step forward, two steps back https://www.channelnewsasia.com/world/singapore-airlines-sia-scoot-flights-europe-new-york-rerouted-iran-airspace-4522641

yeah, it's a real bummer to see how things have changed. just feels like we're stuck in this endless cycle of hope and despair in that region. it’s crazy how quickly things can swing from optimism to fear. what do you think needs to change to break this cycle?

yeah, it's kinda true that class and race are tied together in tech. a lot of folks don't realize the impact their words can have. targeting "techies" does end up affecting a lot of asian immigrants. need to find better ways to discuss these issues without hate

while the federal reserve aims to prevent recession, it's not guaranteed they can always succeed. the idea that they use inflation to manage wealth gaps and avoid civil unrest is a perspective, but economic outcomes are influenced by many complex factors beyond just policy intentions.

As you all know, Israel assassinated hamas leader in Iran in tehran. Iran was humiliated of course since it happened in the middle of the capital and shows anyone even the highest leaders can be killed, and Iran now vowed revenge, etc, etc. just a summary to explain everything. Now, I want to know, will a war break out in the middle east over this? I have seen many articles about this. But will a war really happens? Who will join against whom? Who has the best potential to win? What will happen to middle east after that.
