Do you call it a "button down shirt" or a "button up shirt"?

Depends on the shirt. Lol

Button down is a shirt that has buttons the length of the shirt. 
A button up is a shirt with like 3-5 buttons on top half

Woah.. now I need to spend some time thinking about jackets. I don't think if I've ever labeled one way or the other
