I tend to disagree with Bernie's thesis that opposition to the CR, or any...let's say "vociferous", fiscal policy, or demagoguery for that matter, all of that is entirely undemocratic.
I think a lot of people understand that what the government provides is being very harshly jeopardized, and oligarchs tend to be insulated and still get ahead, no matter what.
however, at the core of this legislative process is a rot. there is a fundamental disorder in the way congress runs to this conclusion with manufactured urgency. there's quite a bit of conflicted interest, and we can very easily see this by the fact that these political footballs are not itemized or split to be more digestible.
yet, at the same time, the counterargument to Bernie is that even these massive omnibus are digestible by the crowd, compounded by AI. I think political reckoning on cost collapses like this political tide shift are still unfolding and not fully realized.
