My wife and doula kept saying that newborn poop was odourless when my youngest was born.

I was like, “Uhm, smells like baby poop to me, but ok.”

Am I wrong?

It smells but nothing like when they shift to solid foods.

I’m talking yellow.  And yeah I agree solids poop is worse, but it doesn’t make the yellow stuff “odourless”.

But I got looks from my wife and doula.  So I had to know if I’m just some sort of Wolverine-nose MFer over here

we talking about the black stuff or the yellow stuff? because the black stuff definitely has a distinct non-shit smell, and the yellow stuff definitely smells like shit. but it gets so much worse when they start eating solids

it isn’t odorless, but is definitely lightly scented as it ramps up to full bore with solid foods - that’s the stink hockey stick moment

The input was breast milk, and I wasn't saying it was as bad as solid/formula poop...just that it wasn't odourless!

imho: there’s a distinction, post-meconium but pre-solids, in breast fed vs formula fed. 

Anecdotally: boob induced poop does not smell as bad as formula induced poop.

That is lies ser. Baby poop, ebf or not, is still poop.
