This was a fun read. Brilliant world-building and fun charactersā€¦if a little too one dimensional at times. The book is eco-conscious and patriarchal, but is self-aware on both counts. Iā€™ll read more Brin for sure

ā€œwalletā€ is for fiat what ā€œphoneā€ is to boomers. i.e. the word has wildly different connotations depending on who youā€™re speaking to. iā€™m asking the choir, but: should we find new term for what wallets (as FC understands them) do? or just wait for the outside to catch up/die out a la ā€œphoneā€?
