Alcohol consumption declining but is it permanent?

Consumption of beer peaked in 2016. Wine has been falling since 1979.  Interestingly, we have been spending more on alcohol while consuming less of it, opting for expensive cocktails and higher end booze.

My wife @ruthveda.eth and I have been sober for 5 years and never missed it a sec.

So far my teenager is (gladly) not interested in the left side of this chart...;-)

I think sample size plays I big part. I assume as weed becomes legal and more people use it, it will rise up the ranks on this list and do more harm than showed on tis graph.

agreed on weed. cannot happen with psilocybin though. you literally cannot die from it and cannot get addicted to it.
