fiction books should entertain you, not signal how smart you are for liking them.

My argument in @7858.eth thread or why I agreed with him can be boiled down to “Red Rising simply was not entertaining” though 😆 🫣 I tried!! I couldn’t get into it!!!

Ah. Then this is a classic “push through” scenario.

Slow build at first, insane pay off that starts after Chapter 6.

I’ve read the whole series twice. Everyone I’ve recommended it to is obsessed.

Felt that way about many things that I've ended up loving. Big stories need to set the foundation.

For example, it took me 4 tries to get into Mad Men and now it's my favorite show.

“It’s crappy for the first  50-100pg but it’s worth it” is killing me 😂
