- Plastic v60 (ceramic and metal takes too much water to heat up) - Lightly roasted speciality Ethiopian beans, preferably natural instead of washed - 18g coffe, 300g boiling water - Blooming for 45 seconds - 180g on the scales at 1:15 on the timer, 300g at 1:45 - Identical regarding rinsing, the edges and the foam

This is my daily recipe - brewer: Chemex beans: 40g (makes ~2 cups) water: 210f, 640g bloom: 80g for 45 seconds brew: 3 pours to reach 640g of water (160, 200, 200) a bonus trick I sometimes do is to use a chopstick to create a small divet in the coffee bed to help the bloom saturate all the grounds

Do you have any pauses when brewing? I always pour some of the hot water through the filter into the vessel and pour it out to rinse the paper and warm the vessel.

I used to be more particular about measuring and all that but feel like I have it dialed in pretty well now so I don’t measure anymore and eyeball it.
