If general-purpose humanoid robots become available at ~$20-30k, then every household in America will have at least one. The credit payments on that robot will be immediately worth it, even to lower income families because it frees up so much time — it's your housekeeper, chef, nanny, doctor, dog walker, all in one.

I was thinking „what’s the killer app“ but then realized that’s a bad phrase 😬 But it would be a gamechanger for old people

doesn't free up much time where people don't have houses and children - these are housing and child tax basically

I’m reading The Void series right now and they have housebots in that world and oh how deeply I wish it was real 🥲 The playing field would be so much more level if everyone had access to a housekeeper (Kristy Tillman’s episode on the Clever podcast has a great section on this btw)

I mostly agree with this, but imho low-income households will be more sensitive to how it directly monetizes & services that credit through rental. the one thing in that list that matters more than anything else is medical & childcare services, which assumedly would be shared among many households.

I think most people see Tesla's Optimus program as a joke but I legit think they are going to be first to market with a general purpose humanoid bot
