Lately I've been using VS Code for certain markdown editing (find it easier to use for bulk editing frontmatter across many md files), and publishing via Quartz. Also hoping to configure hosting on @fleek !

I'll often use neovim to do some quick bulk edits with macros and such, or just more convenient from the context I'm already in. I wish there was a way to trigger an Obsidian sync outside of Obsidian, though (so I could trigger a sync from inside neovim after my edits).

2) Very useful — interoperability is why I chose Markdown after evacuating from Evernote. Simple md apps like Typora are nice sidekicks to Obsidian.

1) Typora, but it's license doesn't cover all my machines so on lesser used machines I use TextEdit or whatever Markdown editor I'm experimenting with at the time. I also use Standard Notes which offers Markdown as one of its note formats, but what gets added to SN tends to stay in SN. Experimented with Taio on iOS but never took — ended up signing up for Obsidian Sync.
