TIL Arthur Koestler coined this term —  'library angel'. 

The library angel visits you by providing you with the book you need exactly when you need it most. They are in charge of "providing cross-references". Library angels are those absent presences that somehow make the right books fall into our hands.

In my current D&D game we have tiny fairy like library angel who helps us find books in a magical library. I had no idea this was a real thing. My DM is so layered.
