What did you guys do to game devs. Like, seriously. Every single website for game stuff — assets, UIs, SFX — "All content present on this website is explicitly prohibited from being employed in any manner pertaining to AI asset generation, machine learning or cryptocurrency initiatives."

A lot of gamers and game developers have always hated crypto (look at the reactions when some popular companies spoke about NFTs back in the day) and a lot of them hate AI.

I can’t believe they are saying this about otherwise free assets? It’s for everyo—NOT YOU

I agree it is odd, I always felt like those warnings are for people who might take those assets and simply use them as NFTs, etc. but isn't that what licensing is for? Like if you post art on a website under a CC license you can say no commercial use, but I don't think you can say "for commercial use just not crypto"

There is a huge culture against it. Kind of surprised that they even extend it to free assets but also not surprised. They really hated NFT stuff and made game companies fully aware of it. Some of the backlash was due to anti-crypto stuff like energy use and global warming (this was before ETH became PoS) but there was also this attitude because of how many micro transactions full priced games already had. Everyone was sick of it already back then and it's still prevalent today (just without cryptocurrency)

NASA has the same fine print on its images... always thought that was frustrating bc I would have used them for 3d gallery backgrounds but I had to use crappy fictional ones from other sources.
