I am really struggling on how to move forward as a content creator ngl I get great feedback and positive reinforcement on my fitness curation and tweets/casts, and it’s very purpose aligned to where I want to go But I find myself unsure of what to do in terms of the next step…blog/video/newsletter what do I do

former youtuber, aspiring writer here 🙋 1. pick a medium you consume the most. you'll already have a taste/intuition for what works and doesn't and will save a lot of time. i've also found editing to be less painful. 2. don't jump directly into long form. start with short forms and learn to combine them.

as far as I can tell, canned sardine YouTube reviews are a fragile duopoly ripe for disruption. start there, then pivot outwards to dominate all other forms of internet media

What’s the goal? Community, monetization, creative expression, etc? It all flows from there. Newsletter is tough for fitness bc it’s a visual focused niche. Short form video is a treadmill, long form is hard to keep attention w/o purpose like an exercise plan. Down to strategize! Also *cough cough* seemore.tv

I say go for short form stuff and definitely talk to @cameron about seemore.tv - you could place them all there instead of getting lost in the algorithm. Spotify does video podcasts which may be a good idea as well. Longform for digging in deeper. Try something out and see what makes you energized.

I totally feel you. My advice: experiment! I’ve done so many experiments that led to wonderful new mediums and audiences. Don’t be afraid to fail or to “waste time.” Life is one big waste of time. Hope that helps 💚

Have ChatGPT made any suggestions? I watch trainer videos during my exercises and stretches. To me, that’s great content.

1 newsletter a week fundamental for any content creator imo It doesn't need to be your main channel, but a good way to connect, reach and keep your community in the loop
