Is gambling addiction transferable between methods? Ie: Public pressure to shut down sports gambling (DraftKings etc) could benefit crypto as addicted gamblers move towards meme tokens, etc to get their fix

all addictions are transferrable, for what it’s worth. when I quit drinking and drugs I went hard into coffee, meetings, and, well, the internet. I know anecdotes are not evidence but there really is something to that.

Somewhat. With something like sports betting half the draw is actually watching a game you’re somewhat familiar with, watching a chart just isn’t as engaging. Stuff like pumpfun is probably the most similar but I’ve personally never been interested in it. When I’ve relapsed I’ve went looking for any site I’ve previously signed up for but hadn’t self excluded from yet 😅

People addicted to X and FB may transfer their addictions to sufficiently decentralized options such as Farcaster when public pressure to shut down free speech gets turned up too high
