FOMO. This has caused lots of people to risk their assets just for getting a bit more degen coin. It hurts to some extent the community as outsiders only see this as proof that web3 is not good enough.

Most crypto projects are trying to make FOMO and calling it a growth strategy. Users register to projects just hoping to get an airdrop someday, and the projects are happy with it because more people are signing up -> they can show a cool growing user chart

Job ads all saying "must have web3 experience" or people thinking 'web3 experience' is more important than actual skills. As far as I can tell it's the only industry that thinks people can't learn the context. It keeps the pool of people so small & means we are missing out on so much talent which could transition.
