Minimizing the distance between what I want to do <=> what I do If I find myself saying I should do this but I haven’t yet, and increasingly feeling that same friction over and over and over - something is going wrong and I need to rectify the situation immediately

I’m very good at this on a moment to moment basis, less so day to day, and as you expand the timeframe my track record gets worse and worse. Result: a feeling that I need to make a Big Change to, as you say, rectify the situation. I know small changes over time build up, but I’m tired of just moving the needle.

inner light vs. surrounding light. when you want something greater than what you have there is always push back and something to overcome to achieve it. not like a to-do list, more like up-leveling your consciousness by becoming more like the form commensurate to the thing you seek.

I experience such friction every time I have to deal with taxes or validate legal documents. The best I can do is to stop thinking, turn off my brain and do it immediately. Problem is: I need my brain while doing this stuff. Every minute of it is a drudge!

Whenever I find myself stranded on island which is between Want and Action, to save myself from eating grass of guilt, I either bring down my want or increase action. Easier said then done. But its not a place I want to live in for a moment but constantly find myself there now and then.

Yes and the worst part is that friction compounds every loop. On the other hand, breaking tasks or goals down into smaller pieces allows you to get over that threshold easier, mitigating the momentum needed to actually start minimizing the distance. This helped me a lot recently.
