Writing more recently has changed my life I really started to take writing seriously around ~2022. Honestly, around the time I started Farcaster. I started writing, a lot. I was terrible before, and I've definitely gotten better. I wrote about ~300 pages of journaling last year. Why writing has changed me: writing and writing has taken me to my ideas to its natural conclusion, to places I didn't expect. Clarified things for me in ways I didn't fully understand - but also maybe knew all along

I used to think I was terrible at writing, and I told myself that I was more into math and logic. Then I thought, well it may be the other way around. Now I'm just thinking - well, what's the difference ultimately anyway? We make these boundaries between subjects so it's to organize and understand them. But ultimately - is there a difference?

Thank you for the reminder, as I cyclically tell myself to "I wish I wrote more yesterday, today will be different"

As Wittgenstein realized there's nothing we can really ever talk or often think about without language. So writing touches pretty much anything. I recently started numbering my notebooks and the pages so I can reference back to previous things. If i ever get super motivated I might even write an index for them. Totally helps with clarity. Even if it never makes it in front of others.

i find writing an extremely important part of my life, too. it's a great way to reach those introspections of yourself that are easy to otherwise omit from your life. for me, it's also the self-documentation aspect that's also important. i can see patterns in my thinking and that can help me change them.

Yes. Writing and thinking are entangled.

I totally agree that writing things down helps clarify understanding and helps solve problems. I was just reading recently that making things "physical" helps us think and solve problems. Reasons why detectives in films/shows (and I'm assuming this is the case in real life) pin clues and other visuals on the wall to observe and discuss. I need to do this. Why am I not doing it? Especially since I know it helps. I also stopped writing in my journal in the past few months. Too distracted by other things.

I've written so many poems all my life. Also blogs etc. I think though it decreased a lot since last few years. Gotta get the ink rolling again to that intensity. 🤍
