i believe that people will trust algorithms (usually created by for-profit entities to optimize profits) to choose quality content less and less over time. my hope is that human curators will step in to use their unique and varied tastes to surface and promote valuable content, which in turn will incentivize content creators to stop catering to algorithms. more signal, less distraction.

I believe curators will be among the first to face challenges against AI. However, if they skillfully manage AI, they can turn it into a powerful ally rather than an adversary. As AI continues to advance, an overwhelming amount of content will be produced, making it increasingly difficult for curators to manage. Initially, curators can enhance their ability to find high-quality content by using AI for filtering. Eventually, they can contribute to training AI curator models. This, I believe, will mark the starting point for the future stages of content creation.

opposite to @downshift.eth "i believe that people will trust algorithms (usually created by for-profit entities to optimize profits) to choose quality content more and more over time". we are a poorly designed species, made by very inefficient and chaotic processes of natural evolution. curating algorithms of the future will be optimized and based on the amounts of knowledge we can never match. nothing human-chosen will be able to compete with their choices. hopefully ASI decides to coevolve with us, at least for some time, and then maybe it will suggest things that help us grow. let's not doubt the abilities of advanced AI-curating entities the same way we once doubted chess-playing machines

The main prob in all exist'g curat'n systs is the same: money is power. The primary factor that determines whether content is good or bad is the size of the bag of the person making the decision. Since 2016 w/ Steemit, all systs created have been based on capital to give decision-making power. I don't think the future lies there in my opinion, curat'n should incl. more factors to obtain a qual. score. Bots & manip. make the task complex, but there are av. to explore. For ex. Quora had a remunerat'n syst for questioners that was eventually abandoned but initially enjoyed success. One of the factors considered was the # of external & internal views. This is really a pt that more curat'n systs should take into acct. And when you think about it, it's so logical. Qual. content naturally attracts visitors, & search engines have 20+ yrs of engineering that we can leverage. The q is broad I'm providing one element of an answer here, but if this reflection interests you, let me know & I'll delve deeper.

In my opinion, a very important role for a curator is research, 1.researching relevant content from various sources. 2.Perform targeted online searches using search operators to refine keywords the implications will have search engine optimization (SEO) benefits.Β  When done strategically, content curation can contribute to a company's SEO efforts by increasing the authority and relevance of its website to search engines. This step improves search rankings and organic visibility.

By utilizing AI and machine learning technologies, valuable content can be efficiently extracted and classified from vast amounts of data. This enhances the accuracy and speed at which curators can provide optimal content to users. Consequently, I believe the demand for high-quality content will increase exponentially.

In the future, the role of curators will involve leveraging AI and big data to provide personalized recommendations and utilizing community-based real-time feedback to deliver optimized content. This approach can gather opinions from niche markets, contributing to the creation of more unique and creative content that can gain significant attention. In content creation, this enables the production of content that reflects user demands through community engagement, fostering a more participatory content creation environment. This, in turn, can enhance content quality. From a business perspective, personalized content can strengthen subscription models, leading to positive impacts across the entire content industry

The role of curators in digital spaces will evolve to enhance content discovery through personalized recommendations, community-driven selection, and multi-platform integration. This shift will emphasize quality over quantity, ethical practices, and the use of data-driven insights. For content creators, this means focusing on high-quality, versatile, and innovative content that aligns with personalized and diverse audience interests.

I think from a general point of view, curators of today have their work cut out for them with the advancement of AI and learning algorithms better catering selections to the viewers preferences through observing patters, clicks and in some cases your personal data. While I feel people are becoming more adverse to personal data and its unsolicited use, funnily people also still have a strong desire to be understood and share experiences through relativity. This is where I think what will separate the good curators from the AI/algorithms will be the ability to read a room and read people. While algorithms and AI (for now) can only follow instructions based on data, clicks and instructions, a person can still have the ability to pick up on unsignalled cues/emotions which are given off on a sub conscious level. It's kind of like knowing your audience. I think your choices can be made in a way that connects with an audience and can relate to their inner desires if you know what they want and who they are.
