every time i write a check and put it in the mail and hope that it gets to wherever it's going, i think about the people who ask "what is the point of crypto"

the question is, why do you still need to do checks?

I've said it many times: anyone who thinks crypto is useless has never tried to move money around, esp. internationally

Is this a metaphor 😳 or you really can still mail checks for some things? 👀

The other wild one is mailing passports for renewal. Your full travel history, visas and in most cases proof of citizenship.

how about the fee to get a cashiers check? Paying the bank to prove that you have the funds. Need to have a "proof of funds" protocol to kill that system.

I had a company who refused to accept DocuSign, so they made us sent two copies of a 50 page agreement. Initial each page and then sign with blue ink 😂

I had to send some money *electronically* and started the process on Sunday. It should reach the recipient’s account tomorrow: Thursday. Why crypto?

Exactly, and even after the invention of email and online payments, people still use postal mail.

Checks are suuper old school. I’ve never used it in my life. Surprised by so old financial infra and user experience in the US. It’s much harder to convince old bros in England to use crypto for payments while the traditional bank transactions fly within seconds here.
