Disagree - although it’s nuanced. Unlocking liquidity from your assets is the defi dream. That means interacting with a SC and agreeing to the conditions by which you can access your assets. The problem isn’t TVL, it’s immature SC. No way around but to build through. Market will bubble the best patterns up.

404 is fricken genius. We have floors and rares. If floors are basically shidders with pictures - then may as well make them exactly that. Buy enough fungible tokens - you get some art. Don’t like what you get, swap tokens in and out till you do.

I’ve recently been leaning into local first setups. More to get a feel for how far away the UX is to their centralised versions. Collaboration on code seems to be an obvious place to start. Has anyone had a play with https://radicle.xyz/ or similar? Looks epic on paper.

Are there any open source wallets intended to be embedded into an app (that is, the wallet itself is both self custodial and abstracted from the user)

You can’t remove volatility/risk - only move it around. Unless by moving it, you create a significant shift in the game theory and behaviour of the actors involved…

We need to revisit bitstamp or similar as a credible, decentralised way to add a small cost to stem the endless spam on email. AI reducing the cost of creation means we need to add a cost to send :)

Great analogy. Seems to be a general evolution in any kind of collaboration (humans to humans, humans to machines and machines to machines). You naturally get less and less prescriptive on the how and focus simply on the outcome.

The beauty of permissionless blockchains is that they bring back the OG openness while ensuring an economic incentive for builders. No one can stop me from pushing smart contracts on ETH, or integrating with Uniswap. This IMHO is integral for a true marketplace of ideas. Let’s make the internet open again :)

Why did that change? Innovation needs capital and builders gotta eat :) ‘Web v1’ had no obvious mechanics to monetise. So we built moats. The most insidious - API access got locked down. Now you need api keys and the blessing of the BD team to build!

Crypto and public blockchain are the only credible path to open the internet again. The Internet was built on open protocols. You didn't have to ask permission to innovate and build on top. You just... did.

This is possible now :) However; going up a level… Will users even care what chain it’s on? My bet is at as long as folks now it’s unimpeachably controlled by them via their wallet - chain is irrelevant

Posit: there’s a large group of people in crypto that underrate “vibes” as an input for why something is working. “Vibes” = non-deterministic human group behavior

I agree. End users choosing chains is the wrong UX. Apps should transparently route to the right chain.

🔥 advice! Be naive enough to assume you can change things and dive in headfirst. Basically, a bias to action based on a belief you’ll find a way :)
