I think the questions work but the US cultural attitude towards work/money I think is quite diff to other places so the answers you get from non-US people may skew results. Given your kids are ‘swimming’ in the US context you prob want people in same pool. 
eg. Don’t know what private school like in US but..

cuz US culture and demographics and how cities are built is very different than rest of the world.
