with privacy being one of crypto's core values, we're used to working with anons. so unless something feels off or risks are low people are willing to skip due diligence. the real danger arises when bad-faith individuals exploit that anonymity and hype to build credibility — then rug once they’ve gained momentum. I'm also quite certain this will be a thing of the past once zk solutions and onchain reputation scores become widely accepted.

I used to run a small local exchange with usdt and usd trades, for every new customer or peer, i always verified identity, with a quick video call and a valid id next to their face That’s why i’m surprised how someone like gaba could work under a pseudonym on a serious project like clanker, without even one video call or basic identity check I followed the velodrome incident back then out of personal interest in defi, what happened was theft, and i personally believe anyone who’s done that shouldn’t be trusted again with serious responsibility, it doesn’t matter who the person is or what abilities they have ! In web3, i get that privacy matters, but shouldn’t there be some level of identity assurance, maybe even using zk tech, when large communities and funds are involved ?

i get the sense they're going for the fun intern vibes. the only thing that also sets me off is the "42/69" reference. to clarify, this isn't an endorsement of the project — which afaik still hasn't delivered anything substantial — just an appreciation of the goals and approach.
