the client/app is great. privacy is shit. the fact that chats aren't e2ee by default in 2024 tells you something.

with this team not having e2ee is a *conscious* choice they *want* all the messages to be plain text on the server so that anyone could read them

they are pro-money :) want to get as much money as possible hence sacrificing privacy for not being blocked by oppressive governments

Pulling up on this thread hella late, but weβre working on this @comm.eth Telegram launched with E2EE and rolled it back early on. I actually think itβs more about product tradeoffs. Moxie (Signal guy) said as much in his web3 essay. E2EE will be limited to simple Signal-like apps until users can host servers.
