In this cycle, as the "Four Heavenly Kings" L2 have been launched one after another, the debate over which one is better has been endless.

Crockett Johnson, Construction of Heptagon, 1973. Oil on masonite. The work involved constructing an isosceles triangle with angles in a 3:3:1 ratio, where the smallest angle is 1/7th of a circle. Inscribing this triangle in a circle defines the vertices of a regular heptagon. The process, called “neusis construction,” uses a marked straightedge to align with a fixed point and a circle’s arc to locate precise points.

Intricada by @camilleroux "This project explores the balance between emergence and control. Intricada is created with autonomous agents drawing very small dots and following simple rules, positioned according to geometrical patterns." Artist in Residence - March 2023

Day 15: When Breath Becomes Air A neurosurgeon reflects on the meaning of life as he approaches death. What could be bad about that, right? Such poignant irony! Such perspective! When I plucked this off of my wife’s section of the bookshelf, that’s what was running through my head. “Great, I’ll read it and then my wife and I can talk about it together!” So I’m psyched. I love books about death. I love reading books by super smart people. I get settled in and start reading. It quickly becomes clear to me that I’m reading a collection of essays, panicked diary entries, and dollar store philosophical ramblings. Apparently the editors, without a living author to work with, decided to just ship it as they found it. If Kalanithi had made a miraculous recovery, he’d have reread this, realized that it’s sentimental hallmark movie slop, and tucked it in the drawer where it belongs. I went to my wife to say all this. Her response: “Oh yeah, never read it.” Two stars. Don’t fall for it.

Mbaba is one of the rare pieces in my work that I felt compelled to approach in an entirely different way. I followed my intuition, and the final image became a perfect reflection of the inner harmony I was seeking and the message I wanted to share with the world. Ndahafa, holding her firstborn, embodies the very essence of motherhood—the fullness of life and the pure joy that comes with unconditional love. In that moment, she becomes her own universe, with all of creation witnessing her beauty. Mbaba 2023

In contrast, Hypergrid can achieve interoperability between native chains, and assets and data between Grids can be seamlessly migrated without relying on third-party cross-chain bridging.

I find bostrom’s simulation trilemma to be a bit self defeating - especially point about 3. then we must be living in a simulation - bit self referential. How do we differentiate between simulated minds and real minds? It feels a bit difficult to falsify and therefore as an argument it doesn’t quite resonate for me because it neither helps nor doesn’t help in a cogent argument about whether we are in a simulation or not Ok July, but what if we are in a simulation. Well, if that’s the case who’s simulating the simulators? How much recursion is there? What is the substrate that the simulator is running on and what’s preventing them from also falling into the same trilemma. But again, this is a philosophical excuse to hypothesize about possibilities, so I’m open to the idea. That being said, I’ve always thought it interesting that the exact amount of computation / energy to run a simulation of the universe, is the universe and its known energy of the universe (dark matter, dark energy aside)
