today, something terrible happened For the first time in a decade+, I saw ads on the internet. Chrome disabled my uBlock Origin plugin, and is banning it. the internet without an adblocker is a hellish landscape im switching. Brave or Firefox? Please give advice

The internet is only a little bit less hellish without ads. You still have to fight login walls, paywalls, cookies consent, companies trying to get you to download their app instead of their web and all kinds of other requests. It is no surprise that users just rather send bots (I mean operators).

Are they rolling this out in waves? uBlock origin still works on my devices, so far.

Firefox user since forever but esp on Linux there are many times it just doesn't work with sites looking for a wallet connect, a lot of devs seem not to test with it

Firefox. The Mozilla foundation is the least evil of the bunch.

Brave works fine! Apparently Edge (chromium-based) is still on old manifest.

NextDNS has been my best friend. I’d rather pay a small fee to never see ads ever again than deal with browsers telling me what to do. But otherwise Firefox cause it’s the shit.

Firefox isn't as good as before they say Better off switching to Brave, since it's already chromium based + web3 friendly

I think they are the two best options, but I prefer Brave, the ad blocker works very well, and I like the chrome like experience

I spent the last quarter de-googling my life...mail, office, photos, search, and browser. I now use Brave full time. Once in a while there is a site/app that doesn't quite work...but it's rare

Been using Brave for years, it’s great! It does make testing thing a a bit more difficult sometimes when cookies are involved but I just swap back to chrome for testing
