It feels like the moat for apps like Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude etc. will be personalization based on user data The apps already know who the user is, that's why ChatGPT can try to draw a picture of the user (admittedly, they are not good at it yet) Soon, responses will be tailored to what that particular user wants instead of generic responses (my GPT already remembers that I started skiing this year โ›ท๏ธ) This feels similar to Apple Music, Spotify, etc. where the underlying content is commoditized (all apps have access to pretty much the same music library); similarly Claude, ChatGPT's vanilla models will converge and feel largely similar and the main differentiation will be how well they know the end user Similar to how it's hard to switch from Spotify to Apple Music because music discovery changes (I've tried multiple times and failed), people will find it hard to switch from one agent app to another because they won't want to take on the burden of teaching it again from scratch New round

One of the most frustrating experience for new Amps users is onramping Base ETH to send USDC. This is unintuitive for anyone who isn't deeply steeped in EVM knowledge. They receive USDC via Warpcast rewards, but are unable to spend it because they don't have any Base ETH to pay for gas fees.

warning: long read, personal POV i worked for years with brands, celebs, banks, investors, and foundations. i know how powerful brand marketing is in building trust and community. and as someone whose family, friends, and daily life donโ€™t touch crypto (despite my best effort), iโ€™m painfully aware of how bad cryptoโ€™s brand is. if youโ€™re thinking โ€œonly XYZ is cringe,โ€ hate to break it to you: to most people, thereโ€™s no difference between ethereum, solana or base. to them, itโ€™s all just crypto. no amount of โ€œman on the streetโ€ tiktoks, memecoins, or cypherpunk storytelling is going to fix that. iโ€™ve been in crypto since 2018, and the most consistent thing iโ€™ve seen convert skeptics into believers is simple: trusted humans. people change their minds when someone they trust shows them something they care about. maybe iโ€™m wrong, but i still think the best way forward is whatโ€™s worked for every other network: good humans onboarding other good humans. itโ€™s slow until itโ€™s not.
