How do you think about onboarding talent without crypto experience? Is this something you do/prefer/avoid? For specific roles/generally? I often have non-crypto friends who are looking for new work, are considering a crypto thing, but hard to know where they would be welcome or what's expected of them upfront.

Everyone goes through a 4 week onboarding process that includes calls covering all of the major elements of the Optimism ecosystem (tech, governance, and more trad cultural onboarding stuff). It also includes a reading list of articles and books. For non-crypto folks there is def a steep learning curve!

It's a bit role dependent, but we think it's important to hire folks that are non crypto-native! It's another kind of important diversity to be conscious of. Example; vast majority of engineers have crypto background. None of our designers came from crypto.
