Ethereum is too slow and expensive. How can we retain users with horrible UX and no apps? Ethereum will never scale - L2 centric roadmap might be the move. L2s were a mistake we should have scaled the L1! *EF announces plans to focus on L1 scalability roadmap* Is this a joke? Five years? Way too slow. ---- - "Anyone from anywhere with a good idea can be taken seriously" - Ben Edgington - 10+ diff client teams working towards a shared technical roadmap - Thousands of people around the world making meaningful contributions to the space These are some of the things that make Ethereum special. But we can't have those things and expect to scale at a pace that meets the demands of consumers. And that is OK.

Brazilian music is innovative. I think we are going to see increasingly more of it's influence in US pop music. Anitta with a feature on the recent Weeknd sample (called Sao Paulo lol) feels like a big step. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kjolTLZ_Mg) Anitta also has a song feat. Sam Smith on her most recent album. A Sam Smith/Ed Sheeran feature is often a good indicator that something is headed towards more recognition in "western pop music". Can't really talk about this without mentioning the Future feature on Bum Bum Tam Tam in 2018(!). Which also featured J Balvin and Stefflon Don. Would be fun to see funk/carioca follow the path of reggaeton and more recently corridos in getting more love from the US and Europe.

Are Big Social algos meme-aware? I'm consistently getting Hussein hiding place memes. I love it and I often share them, but it doesn't feel like its particularly current? Maybe I'm wrong.

Have been getting served "phones at shows" content a lot lately. Getting worse? It was always bad? I'm surprised we're not seeing more no-phones policies. Or at least some creative approaches to mitigation. Would be interesting to take video/photos that automatically gets sent to all attendees following an event. Less personal I suppose. But could lift some anxiety for people worried about not capturing the experience.

There was a "social experiment documentary" called Boys Alone that came out of the UK in 2002. Ten boys between eight and eleven live for five days in a big house, totally unsupervised. It's awesome and I highly recommend watching it. But I couldn't help but notice that not a single one of these little bros would look out of place in Williamsburg.
