I wish Farcaster had opt-in proof-of-personhood attestations we can attach to our FID. Picturing a permissionless market of options so everyone can decide which are the most credible.

Seems this would dramatically reduce the bot problem over the long term?

I suspected that. 

I still think it could increase quality over the long term since it will likely be difficult for the AI slop creators to get high-status attestations, and the ability to flex attestations could become something that drives more people toward FC.

Most "bots" people are complaining about on Farcaster are actual humans using mobile devices and ChatGPT. They are uninteresting, not unhuman.

I’m thinking they should be at the protocol level so any app can easily pull them. Seems like it would juice the network effects.

You can read and write them to your connected wallet easily enough.

i know @icebreaker has a “Human” credential & you can endorse anyone in your network if you have the credential

Verify these accounts like LinkedIn!

It may reduce the bot problem implementing a sort of kyc system

It may as well curb making FIDs a commodity as there is an extra layer of identity

Or maybe they just introduce a human verification test like the arkose challenge that X does?

Doesn’t have to be the exact same thing
But something to at least, curb or reduce em

Cus it’s getting out of hand

We need an encouragement-of-quality – this means an incentive to post authentic high value content and a disincentive to post low quality noise.

Could this tie into live streaming somehow? Watching @gmfarcaster made me realize the solution to the bot problem is to double down heavily on livestreaming in some way. I trust accounts far more after I've interacted with them on a live stream.

Shouldn’t all these problems have been tackled at the point of creating the account ?
Wouldn’t that save us of all the stress

For some reason I feel this could be obtainable by enforcing a couple of things. One of which could include the use of active base names. Maybe through that, it could be easy to detect authentic users and those who aren’t.
