I wish Farcaster had opt-in proof-of-personhood attestations we can attach to our FID. Picturing a permissionless market of options so everyone can decide which are the most credible. Seems this would dramatically reduce the bot problem over the long term?

Most "bots" people are complaining about on Farcaster are actual humans using mobile devices and ChatGPT. They are uninteresting, not unhuman.

Or they can’t speak English and are trying their best to connect with people. I suspect that much gets lost in a double translation. I do wish there was an easy way to separate the two.

How is a person using chatgpt different from a bot?

I suspected that. I still think it could increase quality over the long term since it will likely be difficult for the AI slop creators to get high-status attestations, and the ability to flex attestations could become something that drives more people toward FC.

Seems like a lot of work to write a prompt, copy-pasta it back here…

This is the case if we’re being honest. Most people on here are clueless in the real sense and end up looking up responses which 90% of the time are generic, uninteresting and lack insight

True. Also, we’re already cyborg and will become increasingly so. That confuses things, and hopefully in a net beautiful way. For those who consider proof-of-human a hard challenge, it’s nothing as hard as getting rid of it after the fact.

I was just wondering how @dappykit follows 205k accounts and share maybe 1 or 2 accounts with those our project follows. Maybe zero of the very top tier. I thought they were bot factory.

I think it's not just bot, I once got a reply from acc with link to telegram for likes and replies for about 150$. Warpcast is doing well to hide these comments but they still show on far.quest @n and @jc should take note of this.

If my small account is going through a serious case of bot attack; I wake up to over 15 notifications and I go check (they’re all bots liking and commenting on casts of over a week all with the same reply) I wonder what you big accounts are going through Is there anyway to stop it?

I agree that the ones publishing are like this... but if you look at my followers list, you'll see that now there are some bots, pure bots, not just talking but following. I don't know why... (and this is my main community...)
