A new crypto social network is on the radar It's no secret that Discord is one of the main social networks for crypto projects, where you can not only check news, but also snag various perks. So, the Towns project team (https://x.com/townsxyz) decided to create something similar, but with direct integration of crypto into their platform. In terms of visuals, it really resembles the familiar Discord. The project has attracted (https://crypto-fundraising.info/projects/towns/) $25 million in investment from a16z, Framework Ventures and Benchmark. The entire top a16z, Paradigm, Coinbase investors and a few top Influencers are subscribed to Towns Twitter. Towns is currently running a beta version of the app, but we can already create or join other chats by invites. To do so, you'll just need to register your account via mail or another of the suggested methods. In general, an interesting SocialFi project with investments from top funds, so get in here and be active, especially at an early stage - must have.

Why does crypto not have more consumer apps? Because it currently does not solve many problems for consumers. Crypto has strong consumer product-market fit with speculative use cases. This is because it’s a) potential to make money quickly b) entertainment. The way to grow the number of consumers in crypto is increase the amount of entertainment in crypto apps. Consumers have unlimited demand for novel entertainment.

1/ Why is growing a consumer social app hard? A functioning app is a necessary condition, but one you have 100% control over. It is not sufficient. You then have 4 difficult problems to solve—at the same time. In order of difficulty: 1. Awareness 2. Onboarding 3. Retention 4. Interesting and entertaining content
