big one for me was building and shipping /gysr I was struck by the speed and ease at which a very small team could deploy impactful things at scale there's something magical about dropping your little piece of software into a rich interoperable ecosystem all running on a massive decentralized infrastructure engine

for me, the first big lightbulb moment came when I was researching solutions to fake news in law school (2018) and learned about cryptographic signatures via blockchain as a way to add decentralized authentication to media online The concept was that we could introduce authentic digital scarcity was 🤯

In '08/'09 I watched my gov't rescue horrible crooked banks and enabled them to keep the same people in charge. When I first heard of BTC, in my mind it was an alarm bell going off that it would signal when things WERE turning crooked. And more importantly it would be a life raft for anyone who believed in it.

when the first time I was able to order medicine for myself in a non-legal country using bitcoin and it arrived. it was amazing and such a eureka moment for me, because as a person with ms living in a country with strict cannabis laws, it was my only way of reaching medicine that literally allows me to live pain free

One of my moments was just recently, with how easy it was to distribute funding via a democratic voting system (QF). I was able to distribute 10eth to 48 projects all over the world with 1 transaction.

Well, from what started off as a quest for financial freedom, I started to look into the tech infrastructure more and tbh I grew more interested.. P.s i remembered one time I got airdropped for just testing out Arkham.. Basically I got incentivized doing what I love 😃 Tech = ❤️

I grew up collecting sports memorabilia and Pokémon cards. In fact, my prime time of collecting was when they first released Pokémon cards. Flash forward a decade, and I lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Flash forward another decade and realizing how much those assets were now worth. The blockchain fixes this

A recent lightbulb moment I had was when Farcaster introduced Frame transactions. Seeing users swap for degen natively in a social app instead of having to use a web or mobile browser blew my mind. Really does paint a picture for what the future of social and finance will look like.

two come to mind: 1. the first time transferring significant value between my own addresses. so easy. in tradfi it can be hard to access and move your own money. 2. running a staking node is probably my most recent aha moment. getting hands on experience with how this stuff actually runs was helpful.

I have been in this cycle for long enough to have multiple moments First was in 2017 when I tried to code my first smart contract and the “Vending machine” behaviour just unlocked something in me Second was definitely way later, when I tried the embedded wallets for the first time!

one of the first protocols I interacted with was ENS. I added it to my twitter named, joined the discord, onboarded friends, etc. received the $ENS airdrop in 2021, delegated my tokens, and suddenly Chris Dixon’s “web3 mental models” made sense. I helped grow the network and now had a stake in the value created.

In 2021,i made an artwork inspired by someone from Clubhouse. People tagged her non stop and got her to come look and when she saw the piece, she broke down. She said she was about to end her life that night, but seeing herself in my art made her feel seen. My art saved a life. I haven’t stopped creating since then.

My lightbulb moment was when our prime minister unilaterally decided that the currencynin circulation wasn't valid anymore. He gave 50 days for a country of 1.4 billion people to exchange all their cash without even having the new notes in stock. When I found out about defi & btc, I jumped in.

One a-ha moment I had with crypto was when I interviewed @mlibty some years ago and realized the possibility of bringing together NFTs and real objects. In this case, he creates very beautiful skates that are connected to the NFTs.

GM Garrett This was during my first year in crypto. After watching various videos and documentaries, I found out that 50% of the world's population has access to banks, while 70-80% of people have a smartphone. I was very impressed by this and realized how global a mission cryptocurrency can have
