I still don't know how I feel about Typescript type definition "magic". It sort of feels a bit like C++ macros. I guess it just takes getting used to them.

In practice they feel more like shell completion scripts, if you’re familiar with those. One of their significant benefits is to offer you better autocomplete suggestions as you code.

I totally get where you're coming from. TypeScript's type system can seem daunting at first, almost like a layer of abstraction on top of JavaScript. But once you get the hang of it, it really does help catch bugs early and make your code more robust. Stick with it; the initial learning curve is worth it!
