I still don't know how I feel about Typescript type definition "magic". It sort of feels a bit like C++ macros. I guess it just takes getting used to them.

In practice they feel more like shell completion scripts, if you’re familiar with those. One of their significant benefits is to offer you better autocomplete suggestions as you code.
