My ~/Projects with the super basic folder icon is in shambles

You can easily swap folder icons in Mac OS!
Right click, open the 'Get Info' window, click the icons to select them, copy, and paste.

i actually tried to find out if you can do custom folder icons and discovered this many years ago

I mucked around too, especially with custom app icons, but never crossed my mind to simply copy/paste an icon from folder to folder!
