Which do you prefer for laptop size 14” or 16”?
I want to upgrade my mbp. I liked the 14” but bigger screen is attractive. Plus I think you can only get the beefiest one in 16”

I do prefer the 14” but I incorrectly thought the maxed out one was only available in 16”. I do need the extra ram and gpu though but agree it isn’t necessary for most workloads.

I normally work with an external monitor and am very glad I have the 14. might be different if you primarily work on the laptop screen.

also might be a hot take but I don't think most developers will benefit that much from the beefiest specs. at least for my most common tasks, the extra GPU power and memory don't make a difference

Ah thanks! I guess when I checked out the store they didn’t have the 14” in stock.

you can actually get max spec (M4 max/128GB/8TB) on either size, so really comes down to which form factor you prefer

Yeah! I work a lot from couches lol that’s why this is a hard choice

considered switching to 16”, but less portable. might still make sense for local RAM and GPU needs though to carry a bigger maxed out machine
