I think it’s one of his weakest books, but that first chapter is so so good

clocking at 9h reading time i am not opposed to finishing it :)

Had the same experience and ultimately chose to put it down with a plan to revisit in the future. Have not had an urge yet to return to it.

Are you one to push through and finish a book for the sake of finishing it?

Push ahead, worth it. Would also recommend Diamond Age and his latest one Termination Shock - not as good as the older books but paints a great picture of how geopolitics could play out in a world of constant ecological disasters

so far dystopian america and tech lingo (back then unheard of) and parallels with vrchat are great

but god it puts me to sleep

had the same feeling at the start. eventually I kinda got into it.

Then maybe don’t start on Cryptonomicon 😄 (actually despite the length it is probably easier to read than Snowcrash)

I think I made it 50% - years ago. I could be convinced to give it another shot if I hear some rave reviews.

A+ world building and futurism but kinda C- story
