Had the same experience and ultimately chose to put it down with a plan to revisit in the future. Have not had an urge yet to return to it. Are you one to push through and finish a book for the sake of finishing it?

it's a cult classic that a lot of people are talking about clocking at 9h reading time i am not opposed to finishing it :)
