humans statistically are not capable of making good decisions on what to eat this is precisely why we need the governments and this is exactly where all governments fail miserably governments must ban all carcinogens, period no matter what your snowflake libertarian ass thinks stop giving yourself cancer, stupid

I think mellow way to say it, is that if you sell food, it shouldn’t be toxic. Product safety requirements are common.

Yeah I agree 100% But what's also a problem is that junk food & unhealthy crap are just soo much cheaper than veggies & fruits. Like no wonder most ppl eat shit if it tastes better and costs way less.

I wouldn’t give my freedom away for a paternalistic government and an illusion of security. Though, the US government could use some more empathy. β€” and we should really start educating people in school about that.

Cancer comes from cells, Cells are made by the human body. Therefore to help protect from cancer I am henceforth banning all human bodies effective immediately. Thank you, vote for me for 2024.

Wait, so governments have failed miserably, so we should give them more power to ban certain types of food outright? I'm not a libertarian, but I think you're greatly overestimating how effective gov health policy is, and underestimating how easily captured they are.

I think in the US the problem is with regulations and subsidies, and lack thereof. Small scale farmers have been suffering since the Clinton era farm bill, while industrial scale pesticide ridden corn and potato farms boom.

But getting fat in America means you get to buy the massive oversized trucks and SUVs and keep the politicians fed with all their kickbacks and corruption. It’s also why it’s incredibly easy to get a drivers license in America, so they can sell more cars and spam more terrible drivers into said trucks and SUVs.

not just food tbh. doesn't have to be such a regime. ex: the best selling mattress brand on amazon is being sued for having fiberglass in their products. buddy of mine got tiny scratches all over him and had to throw away all his clothes too. banned in many other countries
