What do people specifically hate about Times Square? I kinda like that it acts like a “fly trap” - drawing in and concentrating some of the tourists and chaos away from other parts of NYC. Also I’d take the crowds and lights over walking through the many intersections and subway stations w/ active construction.

I think the panhandlers are what make it unpleasant for me. In other parts of the city you can keep to yourself and ignore the world. It's very difficult to do that in Times Square. Good discussion! 163 $DEGEN

It’s good because all the people I do not want to see flock there. Fly trap is perfect. Walking through TS feels like torture. It’s a wasteland of everything that’s wrong with society

I love Times Square. Love the lights, the advertisements, and looking around at everything. There is no other place like it in the world. 82 $DEGEN

I hate that it’s next to my office and I have to zig zag or completely stop when large, disoriented groups of tourists decide the sidewalk is a one-way. 63 $degen

I guess it’s really just the foot traffic. I ride in the street so it doesn’t bother me much anymore. And the two places I enjoy eating at (Ichiran, Los Tacos) are available at other locations anyway 😂

Everything about it—the people, the energy, the smell, the sounds, the air, the food. It's the WOAT But, your point on it acting as a fly trap is interesting and a nice perspective on the purpose it serves.
