Figure out what you consume everyday and find Chinese versions (news, YouTube, etc.). When you see a vocab word you don't know, cross-reference with HSK vocab lists. If it's on an HSK list, create an Anki flashcard (word, pinyin, sound file, example). Repeat ad infinitum.

I would recommend textbooks + flashcards since a lot of the reading/writing part of Chinese is just being able to recognize the most common characters. Also not sure how much practice you have with writing Chinese but they make character practice worksheets which are useful!

My approach is painful immersion — I switch my phone, my laptop, everything over into the language I’m trying to learn. I join a language learners discord for the specific language and if it’s especially time sensitive, I also hire a private tutor. כך למדתי עברית בשבועות האחרונים

Pretty good textbook / audiobook I’ve been using: https://www.cheng-tsui.com/browse/integrated-chinese-4th-edition For me, audio helps. Listening while I read aloud and write. Also, YouTube has good reading/ writing content.
