when #hashtags? they help foster and facilitate deeper asynchronous conversation and connections. and that aspect is missing in the farcaster ecosystem. i can imagine a curated frame with similarly tagged conversations that are then displayed like a thread. but i don't see how that's possible right now. cc/ @dwr.eth @woj.eth

hashtags get really spammy as they get popular as they get more spammy they require ml algo sorting and they you might as well just invest in better feed algo or better semantic search why do you find hashtags useful? do you have a good example on other platforms?

Hashtags would be really nice to have. I'd especially like to be able to follow hashtags, which you still can't do on Twitter.

i'm not sure if hashtags are necessarily the solution, and i can see pushback on the other side where we'll need algo feeds anyway, so why bother with hashtags? the problems i see that are worth exploring (where hashtags solve some of) are: - how to organize information that touches multiple channels? - how to have explicit input into how you'd like your casts to be organized - outside of being a member of channels, how can you express stated preferences (where algos these days are heavily biased towards revealed preferences), to have some explicit and clear control over the content you're served?
