a friend sent a pic of me on a hike w/ ppl i had never met before. i was legit confused. I thought, "was this a deep fake?" it's not. so this guy is either a dead-ringer doppelganger or the timelines are merging in this simulation. and things are weird right now so i'm leaning toward the latter.

self-censoring for fear of shadow bans in order to maintain monetization and views feels weird to me. we should say "suicide" instead of "unalived," and call it "sexual assault," not "SAed." these softened terms dilute the weight of serious events, turning them into sanitized words that strip away their impact.

a very though-provoking comment by @ilannnnnnnnkatin for this week's Cryptoart Question of the Week. one comment that caught my attention was: "ideally an artists should not have to use social media at all unless they were intrinsically motivated" admittedly, i had a visceral reaction to this that swung wildly from "that's crazy" to "hmmm that makes sense." i guess i can see both sides to this. what do you think? #CAQOTW

some lawmakers will go to great lengths to chip away at first amendment rights, even signing laws that push the boundaries of existing federal protections. the real question is: why would a government official want to silence political speech? who really benefits from it? 👉🏻🧠

a recent conversation with @chi has me reflecting on the trash art movement i helped pioneer in 2020. back then, we challenged the status quo—pushing for open-source art, remix culture, and rejecting scarcity. it sparked backlash: censorship, bans, and hate. but today, these ideas have become standard across many platforms. now i wonder—did i stop being the artist who challenges culture, or did culture catch up? i think the latter. creating art was always my focus; challenging the system was just a byproduct. https://www.secondrealm.com/posts/trashart/

i’m mostly on farcaster now, micro-posting about crypto and art. as an introvert, i love the smaller feel—it reminds me of 2019 Twitter’s cryptoart community. as the platforms grow, i’ll probably be searching for that close-knit vibe again. my only hope is for platforms to focus more on niche, content-driven channels like reddit, not influencer-driven profiles like X.

i'm often underwhelmed by most digital art and AI outputs (even my own) in this space. it all looks the same to me. what sets artists like @garycartlidge, @clairesilver, and @sgt-sl8termelon apart is their consistency and dedication to a vision and the way they communicate it. seem like that's what makes the work stand out above all others. suggesting that success in this space is more about staying true to your path than the final product itself.

the people using this tech makes me feel dumb all the time. what a moment in time to be connected to and get to interact with so many big brains. i am doing my best to stay in the present, recognize the moment for what it is, and soak it all in. but sometimes i get distracted. if you see this, just wanted you to know that you amaze me.
