Still figuring out if social audio has taken hold or is a niche thing How many Twitter spaces do you tune into (for however long) a week? Are they overrated or underrated?

Still niche, in my opinion, but think it'll become common. I don't feel that Twitter or clubhouse got the experience design right. I've had this incomplete “long table social” thought in my head for a while. Something about social audio experience design to date reminds me of the boardroom reference in Creativity

It’s still in its infancy. There are people doing very creative things to push the boundaries in social audio. Recently a French developer named Francois who also DJs created a program using bot accounts on stage with him & synched GIFs to make a full sensory music experience on Clubhouse. Love watching it evolve.

I used to listen, sometimes participate, but eventually I stopped listening altogether unless it’s for an artist or topic I’m really interested in. So, put me down for 0 hrs a week, haha.

1 in 50 worthwhile usually someone just shilling or pontificating or virtue signaling much better to just blast an excellent podcast

was in a space last night with over 1k people & they were basically discussing a breaking news event. didn't really learn anything, I did get this sense of camaraderie that happens from time to time when in one of those giant spaces. they can be fun to hang out in but if I want to learn I'll put on a podcast instead.

Twitter spaces is one of the easiest ways to collect feedback in the web3 space. Definitely underrated in my opinion.

SNR too low unless the orators are skilled enough in dialogue to already be on the podcast circuit

I’ve only ever tuned into a handful of Twitter spaces :/ not sure if I just don’t find them valuable or more broadly don’t care for social audio

I dont use it much (maybe 15 minutes a week), but it's clearly being utilized. POAPs definitely helped with interest tho

Overrated imo. Structuring conversation that is insightful can be difficult to do, especially with something as spontaneous as spaces. I think writing is making a huge comeback, and is probably still the best way to get distilled knowledge.
