Notable vanilla soft serve in NYC: - Ray's Candy Store (East Village) - Softside (Nolita and Greenpoint) - Ralph's (East Village) - Soft Swerve (many locations) - the Solato machine (22 Vanderbilt) - Mr. Frostee (trucks) - New York Ice Cream (trucks) Not in order, I've tried all of these. Love soft serve.

May I recommend the following: - Caffe Panna for an Italian take that is more pure cream flavored than full-on vanilla - Marvel Frozen Dairy in Astoria for a killer old-school classic ice cream shop approach
